Born
in York, Pennsylvania, Rick Unger was soon embraced by
the world as one of the next upcoming artists.
He exhibited a mastery of many mediums including oil, watercolor,
pastel and clay sculpture. This rare talent did not go unnoticed.
By
the time Rick was a teen he was studying art at the York
Vocational Technical School, where his talent was recognized
and he achieved such excellence that his piece “Learning
Young”, a montage of trades in watercolor and pastel,
was hung in the school’s Guidance Office. He went
on to create “Giant Ladle”, a 40”x
60”
oil depicting a ladle pouring molten steel, which was hung
in the Director’s office at the school. This work
was later placed on exhibit at the Industrial And Agricultural
Museum of York, Pennsylvania where it is still on display. |
